REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Five years experience (full-time equivalent) in a professional position in adult education
  • Two years of management experience
  • Job requires the individual to work out of Albuquerque or Santa Fe area

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree in a related field
  • Knowledge of adult education principles and practices and professional development best practices.
  • Superior administrative skills to develop high-quality strategic plans, analyze and re-engineer daily operations, processes and procedures, formulate policy and develop/implement new initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, managing and implementing professional development activities for adult education providers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide timely, necessary high-quality professional development resources for adult education field practitioners.
  • Research current practices and trends in adult education; conduct needs assessments and gather input from stakeholders to provide the most appropriate professional development.
  • Ensure that program operations and activities are in compliance with state, federal and organizational policies and regulations.
  • Work in close collaboration with the NMHED Adult Education Division to help achieve established state, local program and project goals, standards and measures.
  • Build and maintain relationships and collaborations with all stakeholders and partners to ensure success.
  • Lead/coordinate all professional development events and workshops as appropriate.
  • Responsible for hiring, training and supervising staff as needed.
  • Write and manage NMAEA grants and ensure that all deliverables are met in accordance with the organization strategic plan. Coordinate/oversee proposals to develop additional funding as needed.
  • Develop annual budget for approval by the NMAEA Leadership Team, Board of Directors and the funding agencies.
  • Approve and monitor budget expenditures and revisions; provide required status reports to the NMAEA Leadership Team, Board of Directors and the funding agencies.
  • Oversee/coordinate the collection and analysis of pertinent data from research/projects; develop, document and present comprehensive statistical and narrative reports.
  • Assist in developing, producing, advertising and marketing projects and/or products in media venues; assist as needed with the development of instructional materials, informational releases, pamphlets and brochures.
  • Oversee the NMAEA website and other relevant information resources to ensure relevant, timely and accurate communications with local programs and the NMHED.
  • Provide support to and communicate regularly with NMAEA Leadership Team and Board.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Administrative Assistant/Event Coordinator

$12- $15 per hour depending on experience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Three years directly related work experience
  • Job requires the individual to work out of Albuquerque or Santa Fe area

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Postsecondary coursework preferred
  • Superior ability to efficiently/effectively organize and coordinate special events and meetings
  • Demonstrated experience with and strong knowledge of computer information systems and related software applications, particularly those used in financial and/or accounting applications; thorough knowledge of general accounting principles
  • Demonstrated skills in creating and editing written documents/materials
  • Strong experience in and thorough knowledge of basic web design, desktop publishing, database management and spreadsheets

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of professional development events and leadership projects to include oversight of the NMAEA office, making necessary arrangements/preparations for scheduled trainings, conferences, workshops, and meetings and maintaining equipment as needed.
  • Research information, compile statistics and analyze data, especially professional development participation and evaluations; prepare timely, accurate and meaningful reports, summaries, and communications for stakeholders.
  • Become knowledgeable of federal, state and NMAEA documentation relevant to adult education leadership and professional development operations to include: the Workforce Investment Act (WIA), National Reporting System (NRS), New Mexico State Plan (for AEFLA) and New Mexico AEFLA policies; assist in monitoring NMAEA for compliance to related requirements/regulations.
  • Communicate efficiently/effectively with all stakeholders, contractors, vendors, speakers to ensure the successful planning and execution of professional development events.
  • Maintain efficient/effective oral and written communications with NM adult education practitioners through NMAEA website maintenance and phone/email responsiveness.
  • Prepare fiscal reports including monthly invoices as required; maintain compliance with state, federal and program policies and regulations; prepare payroll and oversee purchasing; may assist with budget planning.
  • Maintain appropriate records, including fiscal documents, files and reports.
  • Assist in administrative program/project planning and problem solving toward the achievement of established goals and objectives.
  • Participate in conference or event marketing by developing, designing and distributing mailings, advertisements, press releases, posters, flyers, newsletters, brochures, and other promotional materials.
  • Properly maintain equipment and a clean/orderly work environment.
  • Perform related professional responsibilities as assigned
